I'm an illustrator and surface pattern designer living in southern Vermont.  Nature never ceases to amaze, delight and surprise me so that's from where I draw much of my inspiration.  Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus said it best, "Find wonder in everything, even the most commonplace".   I have been a professional gardener for over 20 years and there's so much more to learn!

So many things inspire and inform my work - including - other artists and illustrators like Kitty Crowther, Andy J. Miller, JooHee Yoon and  Maira Kalman, mid-century and Scandinavian design, thrifting, 80's and 90's pop culture and neon colors, 70's AM radio and fiddle music, dogs, long walks, storytelling, folk art and traditional culture, etc. etc.

 

Illustration has been an outlet for me to satisfy a need to connect with the beauty, awesomeness and humor in the world around me.  I hope my work will encourage others to find the joy in it too!
